BALLARAT V/Line commuters will be forced onto buses from Saturday until December 16 as part of the more than $500 million Ballarat line upgrade being conducted by Regional Rail Revival.
The nine days of works will see new train stabling facilities and track duplications completed.
Coaches will replace trains for the entire journey between Wendouree and Southern Cross Station. The weekend train services between Ararat and Ballarat will also be offline, but will resume on Monday, connecting with coaches at Ballarat.
Maryborough trains will continue to run to and from Ballarat
A V/line spokesperson said 300 crew would work around the clock to make sure the works were completed on time.
“We’ll run a mix of express and semi-express coaches to give our passengers options for getting where they need to go,” he said.
