Geelong secured the Elaine Webster and Valerie Page Shields at Buninyong.
Ballarat went down by a heartbreaking one shot in the Valerie Page Shield.
Leah McArthur, Sandi Grano, Marg O’Meara and Kerry Watts made up Ballarat’s best rink, while Di Roberts led the way for Geelong.
Geelong was convincing 171-127 winner.
Ballarat’s best rink featured Jenny Toose, Narelle Vorbach, Elizabeth Cosgrove and Sarah Braybrook.
Karen Harrington skipped Geelong District’s best performed side.
The shields honour two great contributors to the sport.
Valerie Page is a BDBD life member, having twice served as president of the former Ballarat and District Ladies Bowling Association before unification in 2011.
She remains an active division three skipper in midweek pennant for Central Wendouree.
The late Elaine Webster was a Bellarine division life member before unification.
She was an umpire’s’ co-ordinator and group co-ordinator for many, as well as treasurer for 27 years.
The BDBD women’s state pairs will be played at Daylesford on Friday, December 14.

A LINTON Bowling Club two-bowl triples tournament on Sunday went to a Clunes combination.

A Clunes rink skippered by Stewart Williams was runner-up with three wins.
Some 14 teams from Ararat, Beaufort, BMS, Clunes, Invermay, Learmonth and Waubra, as well as Linton, competed.
