Robert Allan and Wayne Baker will share the duties of Ballarat Football Netball League chairman for the next year.
Allan and Baker, who have previously served as chairman, have moved into the joint role after the resignation of John Seeary halfway through his two-year term.
Seeary has also stood down from the BFNL board of directors, leaving the body after 13 years as a member.
Seeary said he was standing down for family reasons and the need recharge his batteries. He said a demanding year in the chair had left him feeling burnt out.
Seeary said as chairman he had spent at least 20 hours a week on BFNL matters – regularly much more if there were extraordinary issues to deal with.
He said as well as the time required, he believed so complex had the role become that a legal background was almost required to deal with the challenges faced.
“I believe the time is right to step down as chairman and from the board.”
Seeary was one of four board members to retire at Monday night’s BFNL annual meeting.
Deputy chair and past chairman Michael Toner, senior netball director Kat Baddeley and executive director Tim Mugridge also ended their time as directors.
Seeary, Toner and Mugridge were presented with long service plaques, recognising their contributions of 10-plus years to the league. Kat Baddeley was also thanked for her contribution as a board member and senior netball director.
Gemma Murphy, Peter Shanahan, Peter Earl, Mark Baddeley and Dale Murley have joined the board.
