It is the second time in three months the family’s property has been blown up by vandals.
In comes as police confirm they are investigating at least 10 letter boxes which have been blown up in Creswick, Clunes and Ballarat in recent days.
Bianca Cooper said the family only moved into their home three months ago and had already had to replace the letterbox once after it was destroyed.
Ms Cooper said after the first attack her husband had concreted in a new letterbox which she thinks vandals have seen as an opportunity to once again attack.
“Apparently they’ve got residue from the firecrackers that have come from other attacks, so I understand they are quite powerful,” she said.
“I was also told that the same people have been targeted a second time.
“I checked the letterbox on Thursday and obviously I didn’t check it at the weekend because you don’t get mail, so I came back to check it on Monday and I glanced at it and I thought, that looks little.
“The whole top of it has been blown away, we found parts of the letterbox about 20 metres away near a fence and some of it over the road as well.”
The Moorabool Crime Investigation Unit confirmed it were investigating at least 10 letterboxes which have been destroyed by explosive devices.
Detective Senior Constable Josh Coy said he believed the explosions were related, after they all occurred within less than a week of each other.
“We know a series of explosive devices were used to destroy letterboxes between the December 3 and December 8,” he said.
Ms Cooper said detectives have told her that she was not the only one targeted in the area.
“I hope it stops, it's not cheap to always be replacing (the letterbox) especially right before Christmas,” she said.
She said she heard a loud bang late one night over the weekend, but living in a rural area, she dismissed it as gun shots from a farmer.
Ms Cooper said it was incredibly dangerous particularly if an explosion happened while a car was driving past or a cyclist riding their bike.
“It’s could smash a window and cause a car to lose control, or if you were on a bike you’d be seriously injured,” she said.
“This is all pretty heavy concrete, it could do a lot of damage.”
Anyone with information regarding the incidents is asked to contact Bacchus Marsh police on 5366 4500 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
