Storm and flood warnings are still current, including in Avoca.
Ballarat’s State Emergency Service units were kept busy, with 37 call-outs in the last 24 hours, most of which were for flooding and building damage in the north-west of the city.
The Victorian SES has also issued a flood warning for the Avoca River from as far north as Charlton to as far south as Raglan, taking in major townships including Avoca and Maryborough, possibly going as far south as Beaufort, which has had 22mm of rain.
Much of Victoria is now under flood watch as remnants of Cyclone Owen continue to batter the state in the unusual summer weather pattern.
Drivers are reminded to stay clear of flood water, and drive to the conditions.
More rain is expected across the weekend, with conditions easing Sunday afternoon.
Maximum temperatures will be in the low 20s until at least Wednesday.
