Centacare manager Jacinta Cook said welfare workers were becoming more aware of grandparents, carers or aunts and uncles who might want to give a gift to the little people in their lives, but who might be struggling with expenses this festive seasons.
Patients at PostureWorks built this present pile, worth more than $7000, adding a gift or donation in exchange for a treatment on the chiropractic clinic’s annual Christmas Giving Day late last week. Everything raised was donated to Centacare to help the community’s most needy celebrate.
“This means we can help reduce the stress for a family who is struggling to get gifts because these donations let us say ‘let us worry about the gifts and take care of them for you’,” Ms Cook said.
This is the 22nd year the clinic has hosted a Christmas Giving Day, supporting a different charity each time.
