Mr Widdop will bring a cast of nine actors to perform Much Ado About Nothing at Kirks Reservoir Park on December 26 and 27, and says every year the company has performed at the park they have been well supported.
“I think it’s part of Australia’s barbecue and picnic culture, to enjoy the outdoors in such a beautiful location. I think it’s one of the jewels in Ballarat’s crown and a lot of people don’t even know about it.”

This year marks the 12th year OZACT has been performing at the Kirks Reservoir Park, starting their own Boxing Day performance tradition.
“This is one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies,” Mr Widdop said. Much Ado About Nothing is Shakespeare’s strategic guide to the ‘battle between the sexes’, loaded with comedy, bumbling security guards, squabbling brothers, mismatched lovers, suspense, high drama and exquisite costumes.
Much Ado About Nothing is at Kirks Reservoir Park on December 26 and 27 at 6.30pm. Bookings: www.ozact.com
