The four-year-old had a chance to explore the festive lights from the children’s ward at Ballarat Health Services’ Base Hospital, while his little brother was a patient on Friday.
Skyline Drone Imaging’s Luke Parker took virtual reality goggles to the ward in a bid to help bring a little joy to sick children and their siblings.
The could virtually step right into Ballarat’s top-five scenes, as voted in The Courier’s Christmas Lights competition, including the winning house on Panorama Drive in Delacombe.
Children could even catch a glimpse of Santa wandering about the lights.
Mr Parker said people went all-out in dressing up in costume to visit the lights. He hoped to bring the fun to life for all who were not able to venture out and see the festivities Ballarat had to offer.
Riley was quickly immersed in the virtual world with lights, reaching out to gleaming scenes almost at his fingertips.
