In what was the first round of competition back from the mid-season break, the Buninyong outfit won just one of the rink battles but still managed a 78-59 triumph on the Kookaburras’ home greens.
Buninyong's winning rink was skippered by Brian Wilcock, with the whopping 42-7 success leading the team to overall victory.
Fifth-placed Central Wendouree kept the pressure on fourth-placed Buninyong with success of its own on Monday.
The Bears proved too good for Midlands Golf, winning 81-47.
Elsewhere on Monday, Creswick managed to get the job done against Clunes (71-59), ladder-leaders City Oval defeated bottom side Smeaton (77-61) and Avenue proved too good for Daylesford (76-63).
