Racing Victoria racing operations general manager Paul Bloodworth said to achieve the ambition of a true pinnacle to end the season, Grand National Steeplechase Day would be the season-ending showdown.
A record $630,000 in stakemoney will be offered on the day, with increases for three restricted races.
The GN Steeple is again worth $350,000.
Victoria’s only all-jumping race meeting on Sunday, August 25, will also feature the $50,000 Gotta Take Care Hurdle, 4000m; $125,000 JJ Houlahan Hurdle, 3200m; $35,000 benchmark120 hurdle, 3200m; and $35,000 restricted hurdles over 3200m and 3400m.
There will also be three jumps races in Ballarat on Tuesday, June 18.
Bendigo Jockey Club has agreed to drop out of the jumps program owing to its track layout not being suitable.
