Trains were on time around 86.5 per cent of the time between September and December 2018,
The statistics did not include the nine days from December 8 where passengers were forced onto replacement coaches, while works for the Ballarat Line Upgrade and V/Line line maintenance took place.
Ballarat faced an extreme heat schedule for three days across the period, where the temperature hit 36 degrees or more, with performance on those days measured against the extreme heat timetable.se days was measured against the extreme heat timetable
A V/Line spokesperson said with the Ballarat Line Upgrade continuing this year, “we expect there will be further planned service changes in early 2019 to enable major construction works”.
“The Ballarat Line Upgrade is critical for improving the frequency of V/Line services between Ballarat and Melbourne,” he said.
“We thank our passengers for their patience and understanding while these works continue.”
