Emergency services were called to an incident in Sebastopol at 11.13pm after reports of a car crashing into a power pole near Marty Busch Reserve.
The 20-year-old male driver exited the vehicle before it quickly ignited.
The crash occurred just inside the front entrance to the sporting ground.
Ballarat City, Lucas and Sebastopol fire brigades turned out to the incident, extinguishing the blaze in about 20 minutes.
The driver was evaluated by paramedics before being taken to Ballarat Base Hospital in a stable condition with no visible injuries.
When contacted by The Courier, Ballarat Police declined to comment.
