Victoria’s heatwave has forced the cancellation of the 14th annual Victorian junior provincial bowls championship planned for Daylesford on Wednesday.

The temperature is forecast to reach 40 degrees.
Tournament organiser Gerry Flapper said the health of the junior bowlers was the deciding factor in determining the cancellation of the prestigious event.
He said some of the youngsters had to travel up to two hours from across the state to compete.
While this mid-summer timeslot is the regular spot on the calendar for the one-day event, this is the first time the long-time Daylesford Bowling Club and Flapper family sponsored event has been cancelled.
Melbourne northern suburbs-based Northern District Flyers won the championship last year.
Ballarat's Gold Diggers were runners-up and were confident of a big showing from what is a strong squad, which has been enjoying a successful season.
This is the second time heat has impacted bowls in the Ballarat District this week.
A Ballarat District Bowls Division midweek division one pennant game was abandoned on Monday with the temperature moving into the 30s.
The match between Buninyong and Creswick was the only division one fixture called off before a result was decided.
BDBD players will be relieved that relief is on the way, although it might be shortlived.
The temperature is forcecast to drop to the low to mid 20s on Saturday for the next round of weekend pennant fixtures.
It is predicted to again top 30 degrees for midweek pennant next Monday.
