The historic Peel Street rail bridge will be inspected by Rail Projects Victoria crews on Wednesday between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
The road will remain open as single lanes both ways between Mair Street and Scott Parade, and traffic management will be in place.
The investigations, part of due diligence for RPV’s program of works around Ballarat station, are not expected to cause any disruptions for train services.
There’s plenty happening in the area, with major upgrades beginning at the Humffray Street intersection, and work on the GovHub precinct closing Armstrong Street’s northbound lane.
Train station precinct works are continuing, with the new three-storey public car park expected to be open at the end of the month.
Drivers are advised to be patient with the works.
