A car has ended up on its side following the two-car crash at the corner of Sturt and Ascot Streets.
The crash occurred in the Ballarat-bound lanes just before 7am, when a silver ute and a white four-wheel drive collided.
The four-wheel drive ended up on its side following the crash.
Both city-bound lanes remain blocked to traffic.
All emergency services are on scene.
The woman from the four-wheel drive was taken to hospital in shock but did not suffer any notable injuries, according to Ambulance Victoria.
People are advised to avoid the area.
Historically, there are more crashes at the Ascot Street intersection than at any others along Sturt Street.
