The Englishwoman does not enter the main draw until the semi-finals.
She will play either Becca Lunnon or Jo Taylor, who meet in a quarter final.
The world championships began on Sunday, with all finals to decided on Saturday.
Singles have a rest day on Tuesday, when the main doubles tournament begins.
Fahey has dominated women’s real tennis since 2011.
She is pursuing a fifth title, which is contested every two years.
Fahey has an outstanding record, with nine French, eight British, and seven United States and Australian opens to her name.
This will be her second time in Ballarat as a competitors, having contested the Australian open on the previous visit.
The City of Ballarat honoured the Ballarat Real Tennis Club, and championships competitors and officials with a civic reception on Monday.
