And now a difficult meeting with the third-placed Ballarat Memorial Sports awaits.
Inglis said there’s strong competition between the two clubs.
“There is some rivalry there and especially when we cross the line,” he told The Courier.
“If the greens are running well as they have been, we are in for a great match.
“It should be a ripper. It will be down to the wire I think.”
Inglis said Ross Jones had been called up from the club’s second side to replace the unavailable Lindsay Trounce.
“We’ll probably go right through now with the same team. Lindsay will come back in and that will be it,” Inglis said.
There will be plenty of interest in Friday’s sizzling temperatures, with the mercury needing to be under 38 for the match to start at the scheduled time of 6.30pm. It is tipped to reach a high of 39 in Ballarat.
The remainder of round 14 will be played on Saturday when bottom side Ballarat East will be eyeing off Webbcona for a rare victory.
The Two Blues are only 15 points behind the ninth-placed Webbcona, which won the teams’ clash early in the season.
Elsewhere on Saturday, there is an interesting battle between top side Learmonth and the fifth-placed Creswick.
The Wickers beat their rivals back in round five and are coming off victory over Ballarat last weekend.
Other matches this Saturday will see Mt Xavier take on Central Wendouree and Smeaton host City Oval.
While all nine grades in the Ballarat District Bowls Division will play over the weekend, premier league takes a break for Australia Day.
The Geelong-Ballarat Premier Bowls competition returns the week after for round 14.
