Marqueze Coleman is Ballarat bound from the United States, having grown up in Los Angeles and gone on to play in Germany and Portugal.
The 25-year-old is a University of Nevada graduate.
Hotondo Homes Ballarat Miners head coach Brendan Joyce said Coleman had had a quality college career.
He said with an ability to score and create, Coleman would play as a combo guard at the point and two spot.
Coleman said he would provide versatility for the group at each of the offensive and defensive ends.
“I can play multiple offensive positions and can guard multiple positions on the defensive end,” he said.
Basketball Ballarat Miners senior eite team chair Matt Sheehan said Coleman’s coaches in Nevada had given him glowing references as a person – an important attribute we look for when fitting players into the community.
Neither of the Miners’ imports from last season Marvin King-Davis or Davon Usher are returning. Each had two years in Ballarat.
