BALLARAT Police have spoken to a 28-year-old man after an alleged bashing of cars in Ballarat's CBD with a sledgehammer.

The attack happened in the early afternoon on Tuesday near the Woolworths supermarket in Eastwood St.
Witnesses reported the broad-daylight attack to police at the nearby Ballarat station.
Police are seeking further information and want anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
