Eight tankers are attending the five hectare fire, which is moving in a northerly direction six kilometres east of Greendale. The fire has been burning for more than two hours.
An update at 5.06pm stated the fire is not impacting communities, but users of the state park need to exercise caution. The fire was still not under control at 8pm on Thursday night.
Emergency services have advised bushwalkers to leave the area, while recommending that others thinking about entering walking tracks in the vicinity of Mt Blackwood turn away. Walking tracks near the fire include Lower Chadwick Track and McKenzie Track.
Residents of Blackwood and Korobeit have been advised that firefighters are responding, and smoke may be visible from their communities and roads.
Emergency services have said residents near the state park should continue to monitor warnings so you can act quickly if the situation changes, and monitor changes to the situation. Increased wind speed, change in wind direction, smoke or poor visibility can indicate the situation is changing.
