The car, a Mazda 3, which was parked outside the owner’s property, was discovered on fire just after 3am this morning.
A Ballarat City Fire Brigade spokesperson said when CFA crews arrived, the car had been fully engulfed by flames.
The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
It is the second such fire in the past week in the area after another car was found smoldering in nearby Howard Street.
On that occasion, initially it was thought that it may have been due to an electrical fault, but after another similar fire in the area, more investigations will be carried out.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
