She joins Chanise Jackson as the Basketball Ballarat elite women’s program’s second signing from the United States.
This is the 24-year-old’s first overseas contract.
Hackmann is a Southeast Missouri State University graduate, who averaged 15 points and seven rebounds in her final year.
Hackmann said she had holidayed in Australia with her family, but did not know a lot about the country.
“I’m excited to learn all about it.”
Ballarat Selkirk Rush head coach Eric Hayes described Hackmann as a “very talented” player and “super” competitor.
“She will bring a real competitive spirit to our program on both ends of the court,” Hayes said.
“Offensively she is a very good scorer from all over the floor and she is also crafty with moves to the ring. On defence she is a hard worker,” he said.
