ONE man has been charged and a second man is expected to be charged on summons after an alleged assault on two firefighters in Bacchus Marsh overnight.

Emergency services were called to an address in Shea Street about 9.30pm after reports of a fire burning on a total fire ban day.
Upon arrival, two occupants of the home allegedly became involved in an altercation with two male firefighters before assaulting them. Both firefighters sustained minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.
Police arrested a 22-year-old man and a 47-year-old man a short time later.
The 22-year-old has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker on duty, assault, affray and threats to kill. He has been bailed to appear at Bacchus Marsh Magistrates’ Court on March 8
A 47-year-old man has been charged on summons with lighting a fire during a fire danger period, affray, and assaulting an emergency worker on duty.
He will face court at a date to be determined.
