Inquiries are pending, and the registered owner has been contacted.
The car was dumped sometime after January 26.
The owner is arranging for the car to be picked up.
Police are not alleging it was stolen.
Parks Victoria is responsible for managing the area, and Ranger Team Leader Kyra Winduss said the organisation is investigating.
“Unfortunately, each year our rangers have to clean-up tonnes of dumped material, which is harmful to the environment, plants and animals, and is unsightly and potentially hazardous for visitors,” she said.
“This is time that could be better spent making park improvements for the benefit of visitors.
“Anyone witnessing rubbish dumping or littering in a park can call Parks Victoria on 13 1963 or the EPA Litter line: 1300 372 842.”
Parks Victoria is not aware of previous incidences of vehicles being dumped at Blue Waters.
