Sister Caroline relished marking her 100th birthday with family, friends and Loreto sisters in a short prayer service and afternoon tea at Nazareth House.
Born the fourth of 10 children in Portland and growing up in western district town Merino, Caroline joined the Order of Loreto after boarding at Loreto Portland to finish her secondary schooling.
Sister Caroline dedicated her service in teaching, across Victoria and interstate. Two former primary school pupils still make their way to visit her each year. She has also made significant contributions to parish life in Ballarat.
