Hundreds of competitors and spectators are expected to converge on Ballarat for the event, which will be held at the Ballarat Polocrosse Grounds.
From under-12 divisions to international Test teams, the Ballarat tournament will cater for a variety of players across different skill levels.
Organiser Lance Owen said the 2019 Ballarat Polocrosse Tournament would be a great weekend which will serve as a lead-up to another major event next year.
Owen said Ballarat had been chosen to host the Australian Polocrosse Nationals in 2020, where competitors from all over Australia and spectators from around the world are expected to attend.
“Our tournament in February 2019 and the Polocrosse Nationals in 2020 reinforces Ballarat’s capacity to host major events,” Owen said.
“Not only do events such as this benefit our local economy, but they also contribute to our city’s growing reputation for hosting premier events.”
Community members are encouraged to attend this weekend’s Ballarat Polocrosse Tournament, where entry is free. Food and drinks are available across the event.
Games are scheduled to commence at 8am on both days. The Australia and New Zealand teams will be playing at 4pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday.
The tournament will be held at the Ballarat Polocrosse Club’s grounds on Airport Road, Mitchell Park.
