Held at Basketball Australia’s Centre of Excellence, the tournament will see 30 teams compete in 99 games across six days.
Ballarat Basketball director of coaching Brendan Joyce said it was exciting to have two local players in the event.
He said the championships will be a valuable learning experience.
“(It) will hopefully see the players grow in their development from playing against the best players in the country for their age group,” Joyce said.
“The under-20s age group also provides a great insight to whom can go on and play senior basketball at an elite level.”
Amoore hails from Exies Acmy Basketball Club, with Taylor from Phoenix.
The Australian Under-20 and Ivor Burge Championships begin on Tuesday and run through until Sunday.
