I found this moth on a fallen gum branch. Do you have any idea what it is?

R.A., Napoleons.
This stout grey hairy moth is one of the snout moths.
It does not seem to have a common name, but its scientific name is Genduara subnotata. Its markings indicate it's a male. There are relatively few members of the Genduara group in Victoria, and your photo most closely matches Genduara subnotata. They are mostly nocturnal and can be attracted to lights at night. Other features are the upraised blunt tail (as in your photo), and the hairy or furry legs and “humpback”.
The “snout” part refers more to other moths of the same family. The Genduara species don’t have the prominent elongated snouts of many of the others in the family, although they are still known as snout moths.
