"The Karova Lounge is I wouldn't say my second home, but I know it very well," he laughed as we chatted over the phone.
The DJ turned front-man has spent many a rowdy night inside of the pack out venue through his exploits with fellow One Day Crew members Spit Syndicate and Horrowshow.
Now he has set off on his own national tour where he is the main attraction, which he admitted can at times be daunting.
"Man when you've got great opening acts like Heaps Good Friends and Approachable Members of Your Local Community, the pressure is high to deliver."
When planning this tour, making sure he hit regional spots throughout the country was important for Joyride.
"Everyone love music right? And I love playing it, so it seems only right to kind of spread our wings a little further.

"It's funny because the regional shows we've done so far people have been incredibly grateful that we've come out their way, even though it may only be an hour and a half away. I'm not doing the driving so it doesn't fuss me.
"It's so much fun, the energy is different, people are more ready to have fun everyone wins from artists doing regional shows."
The excitement surrounding the debut tour and solo album, both titled Sunrise Chaser, has been building for years as Joyride pushed himself to create something that would challenge his musical prowess.
"I wanted to explore the other parts of things that I enjoyed. The hip-hop and rap community has been a lot of fun, but my heart is big and needs satisfying in unconventional ways.
"This project was very much about proving to myself that I could do it and making things that I love that maybe the people that I've collaborated with earlier didn't really get down with."
The pressure of being the sole decision maker on this project was at times daunting for Joyride, as his usual creative process involves a lot of idea sharing and collaboration.
"I think the most challenging thing that I was confronted with was being the sole decision maker."
"I realised throughout the process that I enjoy sharing responsibility with people," he laughed.

"I enjoy collaborating and working with other people and I did that on this album to an extent but it feels really different when it all lands on you personally.
"It's cool and different and interesting but for someone as reliant on external gratification as me, you want to be working closely working with other people and have that weight of responsibility be shared."
So far the itch for external gratification has well and truly scratched, with rave reviews for the project flooding in since its November 2018 release.
However, forever one to not buy into the hype, Joyride is not letting it get to his head.
"(The response to the album) has been overwhelmingly positive from what I've seen and for what people have said to me, but I also think people just have a habit of being nice to your face, so I don't really know what people think."
Looking towards Saturday's show, he only had one piece of advise for those planning to be in attendance.
"Bring your dancing shoes,"
