Harriers club champion thrower Andrew Green was again a major player in helping his club secure the shield.
Green finished second in the male club champion athlete award, to club stalwart Peter Roberts.
New member Conrad Oerholzer had a fantastic season finishing third in the award and winning three Country Victorian Championship gold medals in sprints, jumps and throws.
Under-16 male club champion Jake Ashmore played a key role in the overall triumph given his dominance in the sprints this track season.
In the women's, Sue Anderson again enjoyed a strong season. The distance runner held-off long-time distance champion Rachel Gibney in the open women's division. Angie Selkirk was the standout performer in the under-16 age-group. A great result across sprints, jumps and throws, she claimed three silver medals at the Victorian Country Championships.
Ballarat Harriers athletes will now look towards the Victorian junior and open athletics championships.
The event will take place over the next three weeks at Lakeside before the national championships in Sydney in April. The Harriers cross country season will commence on March 30.
