Variety - The Children's Charity has made a generous donation to the Shorter family, who's three sons all struggle with the same condition.
Belinda Shorter and her husband Leigh Shorter were floored by the amazing donation of a lightweight mobility scooter to be used by their three sons.
"It's really outstanding," Mr Shorter said.
"It's going to help us so much. To know that there are organisations like this that are out their to help families like our own is really amazing."
Their three sons, Will, 8, Hudson, 5 and Max, 9, all live with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
The degenerative condition will ultimately result in the boys being wheelchair bound early in their lives.
"We love to travel, we love to get out and about with the kids so this is really a much needed donation. It allows them to get out of the house without being in pain," Mrs Shorter said.
The lightweight and easy-to-transport scooters usually cost around $4000.
The Shorter's will next look for a family-sized vehicle to help transport their children and the scooters on holidays.
