The Ballarat Cricket Association's third grade grand final will be played on the ground with the Bombers moving their opening fixture against Bungaree to Sebastopol's Marty Busch Reserve.
Cricket and football had both been scheduled for the Buninyong oval on Saturday, March 30.
Ballarat Cricket Association operations officer Greg Wakeling said Buninyong Football Netball Club had been supportive of the move and thanked City of Ballarat's Shannon Palmer for her work in sorting out the ground clash.
"They were very supportive of cricket using that oval on that weekend and wanted to work with us, which they did," Wakeling said.
The BCA's third grade grand final is scheduled to be played on March 30 and 31.
One more two-day round remains until finals, some of which will also be held at Buninyong. The qualifying final will be at the venue on March 16 and 17 and one of the preliminary finals on March 23 and 24.
Also in round one, the Beaufort and Carngham-Linton senior encounter has been shifted to a twilight timeslot.
The Crows will unfurl their premiership flag on the day, with all grades of football and netball pushed back to later starts.
Beaufort coach Rohan Brown said yellow footballs would be used in the senior match and that it was a good way to kick off the 2019 season.
Brown led the club to its first senior flag since 1996 when the side beat Buninyong in last year's grand final.
The round one clash will see Carngham-Linton players run out in the club's new football jumper.
A more conventional style than the previous guernsey that had the club’s logo on the front, it features red and white vees on a black background.
The back of the jumper has a white number panel with a red number.
When revealing the new strip, Carngham-Linton secretary Michael O'Beirne said the design had been approved for both junior and senior football teams.
He said after celebrating the 50th year since the amalgamation of Carngham and Linton in 2018, the club was keen to start its next chapter with a new look.
The senior clash between the Crows and Saints has been scheduled to start at 4.30pm.
It will be played in Beaufort.
Ballan has the bye in round one.
