Transport Infrastructure Minister Jacinta Allan will today unveil the new plans which are part the $500 million upgrade to the Ballarat line. Construction on the new-look station will begin next month.
The new tracks and the second platform will be added to create space for trains to pass each other at the station for the first time which will allow extra services to run on the line.
It will also include new lighting, CCTV coverage, landscaping and seating while the mural at the station entrance painted by Ratartat and students from Yuille Park Community College will also be retained.
Ms Allan said the station design incorporates feedback from the community following consultation last year with locals to be asked to have their say on landscaping design.
“This project will create jobs, boost train services and make Wendouree Station safer and more accessible for everyone,” she said.
