Learmonth ensured it gets a shot at redemption against Ballarat Memorial Sports after scoring a comprehensive victory in Saturday’s division one weekend pennant bowls preliminary final against Creswick.
The team landed an overall 34-shot triumph against the Wickers at Ballarat Bowling Club to book a grand final berth.
Learmonth won all four rinks in a complete display across the green.
BMS beat Learmonth in the division one decider two seasons ago before being relegated from the Geelong-Ballarat Premier Bowls league last year.
Learmonth bowler Mick Casey said Saturday's performance was a strong one right across the board and likes his side's chances of toppling BMS, which it lost to in the semi-final.
Learmonth last won the division one premiership in season 2000-2001.
"The job's not done yet, but I'm quietly confident," Casey said.
"On a level playing surface without the wind and all that, we're as confident as what they will be."
Leon Davey skippered the best of Learmonth's rinks, prevailing by 12 shots in the battle with Creswick's Trav Hedger.
While Creswick lost the division one clash, the club’s division six side defeated Learmonth to book a place in the grand final.
The Wickers snuck home by a single shot to set up a showdown with Waubra in the decider.
Grand finalists were decided in all nine divisions of the weekend pennant bowls competition on Saturday.
Also on Saturday, Ocean Grove powered into the Geelong-Ballarat Premier Bowls grand final.
The Grovers defeated minor premiers Bareena by three shots to book a place in the decider.
In the knockout semi-final, Queenscliff kept its season alive with a two-shot triumph against Eastern Park.
Next Saturday, Bareena will take on the Cliffers for the remaining spot in the grand final.
Preliminary finals in the midweek pennant will be played on Monday.
In division one, Buninyong is booked to take on Central Wendouree for the right to meet City Oval in the grand final.
