Your say: Bull riding is a sport unworthy of a compassionate city

The great city of Ballarat is renowned for its kindness, compassion and fairness. In total contrast to this is the abomination masquerading as sport called the Professional Bull Riders event at the Showgrounds on Saturday. Every animal protection agency on the planet including our own RSPCA is campaigning for an end to this barbaric exhibition of animal cruelty dressed up as entertainment. With good reason, this type of activity is banned in many states of the US, the UK and throughout Europe. When people attend ritualised animal cruelty such as the PBR event, we sully the reputation of our fair city and cheapen our very humanity.
