The blaze is the latest in a string of recent fires in the Soldiers Hill area and comes just five days after two cars were torched in Lydiard Street and Havelock Street.
Other fires have included a Holden Commodore was set alight in Ligar Street about 9pm on March 7. On February 18, a car was burned out in nearby Black Hill.
In late January, a car was found burned out in Howard Street while on February 1, a Mazda 3 was torched also in Ligar Street.
Last night's happened about 2.30am with Ballarat CIU putting out a call for any witnesses to come forward if they saw or heard anything.
A Ballarat City Fire Station spokesperson said the fire was being treated as suspicious.
"It's becoming a regular thing," the spokesperson said.
"The fire started at the front of the vehicle which has been consistent in recent times and fortunately we were able to extinguish it pretty quickly."
Police are urging anyone with information regarding any of these incidents to submit an anonymous report to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at crimestoppersvic.com.au
