Each excelled with the ball to take control.
East Ballarat tore through reigning premier Golden Point for a meagre 125 at Alfredton.
Steve O'Loughlin, 19, and Nathan Bagley, 15, made a steady start for Point with an opening stand of 28.
However, the Hawks took a stranglehold on the knockout final with three wickets on 41 - including the prize scalps of Josh White for just five runs and Manjula De Zoysa for a duck.
With East right on top, the wickets continued to tumble with Golden Point 6-73 at afternoon tea.
It did not get much better after the break with Josh Richards, 34, and Dan White, 23, fighting hard to get Pointies to three figures.
Harry Ganley put in one of his biggest spells of the season to get 3-17 off 13.2 overs.
Ollie Hayes was again the biggest wicket-taker with 4-41 and skipper Josh Brown chimed in with 2-25.
East Ballarat will resume at 1-27 in reply on Sunday with Chris Jerram, 4, and Carl Haseloff, 11, at the crease.
MT CLEAR remains in the box seat despite losing two early wickets after dismissing North Ballarat for 138 at the Eastern Oval.
The Roosters hit back to have Mt Clear 2-17 in reply to their 138.
Mounties set the tone for the day with the big wicket of Leigh Lorenzen for five as North Ballarat stumbled to be 2-23 after winning the toss.
Matt Zakynthinos, 26, and Connor Miles, 21, steadied the innings with a third wicket stand of 33, but once they were separated wickets fell at a steady rate.
Jason Crosbie fought hard late to be 23 not out, but the last three wickets fell for two.
Mt Clear shared the wickets around, with Jarrod Burns taking 2-3, Darren Fletcher 2-23 and Ash George 2-48.
Ash McCafferty and Adam Eddy revitalised North's hopes with a wicket each at the end of the day.
