As a prelude to the 2019 football season, we thought we'd try something different.
The Courier put out the call to BFL and CHFL clubs throughout Ballarat to nominate a player to fly the flag in a series of skills challenges.
We then put them to the the test in handballing, goalkicking and, of course, the longest kick.

The winner of each round then selected a charity from The Courier Charity Fund, to which The Courier will donate $500 (a total of $1500).
Over the next few nights, we will be bringing you all the action from each round.
