Casey Willis, Kate Hawker and Crystal Summers will run out onto Mars Stadium for round 3 of the NAB League girls competition against the Dandenong Stingrays.
Coach Rhys Cahir told The Courier there's a lot of anticipation as the three debuting players all put together strong performances in last weekends Futures Game.
"Of course it's very exciting for those girls," he said.
"We know they've got a lot of skill and are ready to see them put it together and produce on the field."
Along with the debutants, the Rebels will be bolstered by the returns of a few key position players.
Vic-Country academy footballer Isabella Simmons will return on the wing and Nyakoat Dojiok will slot comfortably back into the Rebels defense.
"They're both super valuable," Cahir said.
"Isabella brings some great run and ball control through the middle, while Nyakoat is just super quick - she is really valuable to have running of our backline."
These returning players will have big shoes to fill as the Rebels will be without star ruck Maggie Caris, who will miss Saturday's game due to commitments with the Netball Australia.
Improvements will have to be made as the team search of their second win of the season, as the Calder Cannons were simply to good for the Rebels in the second half of their round two outing.
"Last week we were clearly beaten by a better team," said Cahir about their 58-point loss.
"Our primary focus is and will always be on player development and our players can learn from a loss like last week."
With the finals series for the 2019 NAB League being expanded to four teams, Cahir did relent that getting back on the winning track is still important for the group.
"Everyone wants to win," he said.
"Each one of our players is a competitor, so if we can keep in reach of the top four come finals time, that will go a long way for our entire group."
The Rebels will take on the fifth place Dandenong Stingrays at Mars Stadium this Saturday at 11.15am.
