The Vikings tackle newly promoted Lalor United in an away fixture.
New Vikings coach Michael Goodman said they were under no illusions as to what Lalor would throw at them.
"They'll be tough."
However, Goodman is upbeat about Sebastopol's prospects after a strong pre-season, which has produced a wealth of goals off the boots of six players.
"It's been a productive pre-season.
"We're confident if we play our way we can get a result."
Goodman is pleased with the player retention and the recruits the Vikings have secured and believes they will provide an opportunity to continue building on 2018.
Sebastopol was in the promotion race for most of the season before finishing fourth. It has 12 wins and four draws.
Edwin North, Jacob Selby, Denelson Salvatore and Kyle Cushion will be new faces to watch - all providing quality and added depth to the squad.
From Caroline Springs George Cross, North has shown promising signs in FFA Cup ties - scoring twice in a third round win.
Salvatore has returned after time with Ballarat City FC and will slot in up front
Cushion is a centre back from Deakin Ducks and Selby will provide experience as a defender after having previously spent time with City FC.
Goodman said the Vikings' focus would be on ball use.
He said he was not looking to make too many dramatic changes, ensuring adequate opportunities were provided for played in the front third.
