Ten years and the possibility of dying in detention: a man's plight.

Ballarat Rural Australians for Refugees (RAR) have been deeply saddened this week by the news that a Sri Lankan man with whom we have formed a close personal relationship has been diagnosed with leukaemia. This man is currently detained in the Melbourne Immigration Transit Accommodation centre (MITA). Last Christmas was his tenth spent in detention.
