The 11-member council decided to hold a crazy hair day at school to raise funds for the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute, then thought they could tease the hairspray and extreme styles even further.
So they invited primary schools from across the region to join them and hold a crazy hair day on May 9 - and already they've had five other schools sign up.
Teacher Deanna Osman said the junior school council were hoping many more schools would join them to raise money for a worthy cause.
"Two of our high achieving leaders on the council, one of them came up with the idea for crazy hair day and the other had the idea to invite other schools to join in."
In the time it took for Ms Osman to ask the principal about extending the idea to other schools, a junior school council member had already made a list of contact details for all the other government schools in the area.
The invitation was then extended to all primary schools across the region.
Pleasant Street, Warrenheip, Creswick, Caledonian and St Thomas More primary schools all answered the call and will host their own crazy hair days on May 9, raising funds for FECRI.
As part of the day, Macarthur Street teacher Sylvia Ganosis will also have her long hair cut short.
FECRI has set up a donation page for each school on their website so the wider community can also get involved.
