Spotless' facilities director at the hospital, Brendan Chalmers, said water damage resulting from a building issue was discovered in February in an office within the kitchen zone, and the area was immediately sealed off.
Further inspections revealed other areas in the kitchen zone where moisture might have been present, he said.
"These identified areas have remained contained within sealed wall cavities and do not pose a health, safety nor environmental risk," Mr Chalmers said.
He confirmed there was some mould growth, but it too was contained within the wall cavities.
"An independent hygienist has undertaken testing and confirmed that the kitchen at the Bendigo hospital is safe with no health risks to staff or food safety concerns and that food production can continue," Mr Chalmers said.
Lendlease, the company that built the hospital, is working to fix the issue.
