The group has been formed to work with council and elected officials in facilitating neighbourhood changes and improvements across the northern suburbs of the city including Ballarat North and Invermay Park.
"We want to build strong neighbourhood friendships that will encourage community engagement," President Neil Para said.
This week's meeting includes a discussion with City of Ballarat Councillor Daniel Moloney who is talking about possible improvements to the Havelock and Landsborough Street intersection, while residents will also be able to discuss their thoughts about what can be done to improve the Midlands Reserve and Water Park with community development officer Jenny Sheriff.
Mr Para said residents would also look at mapping issues with footpaths and areas that need fixing.
He said the group was still searching for like-minded community members who were keen to join the group and possibly be part of the committee.
He said the purpose of the group was to be able to provide a voice for the residents of the northern suburbs.
Friday nights meeting is at the Golf House Hotel from 7pm.
