Captain Sophie Molan and key wing/half forward Isabella Simmons will both miss the game. Ruck Maggie Caris is also a part of the AFLW Academy but is unavailable due to national netball duties.
Coach Rhys Cahir said while the losses hurt on the field it's a tremendous honor for the club to have multiple players at the academy.
"It's very exciting," he said.
"It's great to have these girls be noticed for their play and it means a lot both for them and for us as a club."
Cahir expects fellow leadership group members Ella Wood and Nekaela Butler to step up in the absence of Molan and Simmons.
"As leaders we know they're going to put their best foot forward in leading our team without (Molan and Simmons)."
Cahir remains confident the Rebels can get back on a wining track after losing their past four outings.
"Our girls are always full of confidence. We know we just have to put together four quarters of football and the results will come."
The GWV Rebels will take on the Sandringham Dragons at Mars Stadium on Sunday from 12.45pm.
