UPDATE: A woman in her 20s was taken to Ballarat Base Hospital with a chest injury after a two-car collision at the Creswick Road overpass this morning.
The woman was transported in a stable condition after briefly being trapped in her car.
The driver of the second vehicle was assessed at the scene but did not require transportation.
The road has been reopened to traffic.
EARLIER: DRIVERS are being asked to avoid the Creswick Road-Western Freeway overpass after a two car accident this morning.
The overpass has been closed Ballarat bound, while traffic travelling towards Creswick is being diverted after the crash which occurred just before 8am this morning.
It is understood a woman in her 20s was briefly trapped in one of the vehicles, however she has since been released.
Another person, a man in his 70s is believed to be unhurt.
There are no delays to traffic on the freeway
