Competing with new partner Astra Sharma, the Kingston local took out the women's doubles final at the Claro Open Colsanitas in Bogota, Colombia over the weekend.
The Australian pairing produced an emphatic display in the decider to beat the American team of Hayley Carter and Ena Shibahara (6-1, 6-2).
Hives and Sharma started the tournament with a bye in the round of 16 and then beat Conny Perrin and Bibiane Schoofs in the quarter finals (7-6, 6-0). The girls then dropped their only set of the event in the semi-final win against Monique Adamczak and Jessica Moore (5-7, 6-3, 10-4).
The event in Columbia was the first time Hives and Sharma had played together in competition.
"What a week! First time playing together, first WTA title. These weeks make all the hard work worth it," Hives posted on Facebook on Sunday.
Hives wasn't so lucky in the singles tournament, where she was beaten in the qualifiers.
The doubles triumph continues a memorable 2019 for the 22-year-old, who made her grand slam singles main draw debut at the Australian Open.
She went on to win her round one clash against American Bethanie Mattek-Sands before being beaten two days later by France's Caroline Garcia.
Hives then joined Alison Bai and reached the second round of the women's doubles.
