The Ballarat Royals have dropped their second consecutive game of the Geelong Baseball Association A-grade competition following an eight run loss to the Guild Allstars Baseball Club.
Missing captain Mathew Jones and catcher Leigh Ashmore, the Royals put forward a valiant effort, keeping the scores even a six apiece before being overwhelmed in the later innings.
Jordan Isbister was a standout for Ballarat, knocking in two RBIs in the loss.
The loss moves the Royals to fifth on the ladder after two rounds. Clearly still adjusting to an almost entirely new team this season, Ballarat has conceded the most runs in the competition so far (31) and registered the least amount of runs (11).
