The six-venue craft beer and wine crawl on Saturday, featuring an all-local lineup, was close to selling out as of Friday afternoon.
"We're looking like we'll definitely sell 400, and there's a good chance we'll end up selling about 450, which is where we'd capped it at," organiser Jordan McPhan said.
"We weren't quite expecting to get to that number the first year, people are really excited about it."
As well as strengthening links between hospitality businesses in Ballarat, and bringing more exposure to local producers, Ms McPhan said it had been a boon for the Easter tourism period.
"Easter's traditionally a really hard weekend for business, not just hospitality," she said, noting next year could be even bigger - early plans a for a three-day weekend.
"Ticket sales are showing we've brought people into Ballarat who are coming here for the event."
The event begins at 11am, and while tickets - which include a commemorative glass - won't be available on the day, everyone is welcome to follow the crowds to the venues.
