There are reports a male driver, aged about 20, rolled his car on Buttery Road just before 5pm.
Initial reports suggested the driver was trapped with hand and head injuries, but the first emergency crews on scene found the driver walking around outside the car.
Police, fire and ambulance crews all attended.
Ambulance crews have transported the driver to Ballarat Base Hospital.
It was a busy day for emergency services on the region's roads with four separate accidents around Ararat, one near Beaufort and a serious crash on the Western Freeway at Mount Rowan involving a family of seven.
